March Book Release Update

March Book Release Update

Yes, I know it’s not quite March yet, but as it has taken me until the last week of February to pound out a February Book Release Update, I figured I might as well kill two proverbial birds with a single stone and get March out of the way too.

I’m sorry I’ve been so tardy in updating you, for those of you out there who care, but I’m still snowed under by a pile of tax returns neck deep upon my desk.  Granted, this is better than being snowed under by eight feet of snow.  Anything is better than being snowed under by eight feet of snow.  By the way, off topic, my tulips are coming up and my camellias are in full bloom..  Ha ha.  On the other hand, next summer, when we are suffering from a water shortage due to the lack of snow in our mountains, you can all laugh at me.

Anyway, back on topic, at the beginning of this year, I promised a new release to the Journey to Rehnor serials every month.  Who I promised this to, I don’t know.  Probably only me, as I’m probably the only one who cares.  At any rate, I have failed in this task as book 3 of the Departure series won’t be coming out this month.  Like I said, I’ve been waylaid by a mountain of tax returns, busily researching whether or not a Charter Yacht counts as a listed property and is eligible for MACRS depreciation.  It does, in some circumstances.  However, if you own a charter yacht and are taking tax advice from a woman off the internet, who writes realistic stories about two headed, triple breasted people, then, probably someone should take the charter yacht away from you.  I can volunteer to do that.

But, I digress.  Back to the status of book releases.  So, as you may or may not know, I released books 1 & 2 of the Journey serials at the beginning of the year, each featuring a prominent family as they departed the imminently exploding planet Rozari.  Book 1 was about the infamous de Kudishas, including Karukan, who would become the Infidel and Great Father in the Two Moons series, and the de Shrotrus.  Book 3 is about the de Kirkuts, but unfortunately, they are still on the ground, undoubtedly suffering from radiation exposure, while the bombs are exploding around them.

Last week, I was entirely alone except for Smokey, as all other Ay’s were off doing what they do with people more interesting than me, which is fine, don’t get me wrong.  At any rate, my goal was to send the de Kirkuts on their way.  They aren’t.  I was interrupted by another voice, who in no uncertain terms, demanded I write about him.

Oh no!  I hear a chorus in my head, which sounds oddly like a quartet of Amy Jambors, shouting “No, not another Senya book.”  At the same time, there is another group, who in perfect harmony, are also singing, “Yay, another Senya book.”

Well, I won’t say whether or not this is another Senya book.  As you know, those of you who know, Senya went off for a spin.  But, how long does one spin?  Is it a forty-minute wash cycle and five minute rinse?  Or, does one spin on speed cycle when one is in outer space?  Perhaps, he is on an economy setting and has spun but is still waiting to air dry?

But, I digress again.

I can reveal this.  This new book, whatever it is, will take place on Rehnor but several hundred years into the future, after we left off.  Poor Rehnor is in sad shape again, which is the way of things, is it not?  I mean, when can we say with certainty that poor Earth is in good shape?  The pendulum swings back and forth, does it not?  Anyway, that’s what I’m working on now, and I’m taking my time with it since it’s a whole new adventure with new people.

I still want to meet my goal of releasing the revised and revamped Journey series this year, and so I’m setting a target for Departure 3 at the end of March.

As to the others, well, I do love Bitsy and Mona.  They just don’t speak as loudly as … as that other guy.  Right now, in Time Tripping Adventures #2, Bitsy has found a new job working as a travel agent in the Apple Valley Mall, which has attracted a great deal of unwanted attention from Mona’s sometime-boyfriend, Frank.  The girls will have a fight during a ride in Bitsy’s Prius which will send them to somewhere in time with a mystery to solve.

Anne and Lizzy are still out there, too, in Book 2 of the Angel Complex series.  After leaping off the balcony at the end of Karma Can Kill You, both Anne and Lizzy have landed in a swath of fresh cement.  What they overhear while trying to extract themselves will send them on a whole new adventure of doing good deeds in order to earn back another feather.  As to when they’ll be doing this?  Uh…again, once these tax returns are cleared and the other guy shuts up, I’ll get back to them.

In the meantime, another note on the Journey series.  Both Departure books are now exclusively at Amazon.com and part of the Kindle Unlimited program.  Check them out.
