Podcast: Chapter 1 of The Boy who Lit up the Sky

Published June 28, 2012 by jnaomiay

Okay all you blog fans, I’ve got something new and different to share with you.  Today I have uploaded a podcast (mp3) of Chapter 1 of The Boy who Lit up the Sky.  This is the first time I’ve done something like this so I would like to hear your feedback on how it sounds.  Actually, I’m looking more for  your opinion on the  podcast rather than if you like the book or not.  If you get a chance to listen please respond to this post and let me know what you think.  Constructive criticism is appreciated.  Snarking is not.

Enjoy.

Announcement: New Book coming out!

Published June 26, 2012 by jnaomiay

Book 1 in the new series Journey to Rehnor is done and just getting some final copy editing touches.  I hope to have it up to Amazon in early July.  Right now it is still unnamed but it’s a prequel to The Two Moons of Rehnor series set 1,000 years earlier when the mother planet Rozari was nuked and the Karuptas left to find a new home.  Early readers say it’s good so watch for it.  I am leaning toward putting it in KDP select for one term and so if I run any free days, I’ll announce it here and everywhere else.

Book distribution update

Published June 22, 2012 by jnaomiay

Everybody except Book 3, Of Blood and Angels is now up on Smashwords and Barnes & Noble.  Book 3 will go there next Friday.

Books 1, 2 & 4 have already been accepted by the premium catalog and are on Kobo, Apple and making their way to Sony, Baker-Taylor and Diesel.  Book 5 still waiting approval.

Paperbacks are available through Amazon and all the extended channels including Barnes & Noble and independent booksellers for Books 1 – 4.   Book 5 will be released to paperback within the next few weeks, I hope.

Funnily enough, I saw a posting on eBay Australia advertising The Boy who Lit up the Sky paperback and of course you can buy them in India and a few other places too.  This world is amazingly small.

Lastly, Book 6…hmmm…well there isn’t a book 6.  That isn’t to say there won’t be but if you’ve been following my blog, you would know that 1 -5 was written altogether.  I’m tossing around ideas for a 6 but so far nothing is really ringing my bell.  I’m open to suggestions though.

A very busy day for me today…

First off, today is my birthday and I just received the best birthday present ever.  No, it wasn’t the Jack LaLane Carrot Juicer that my husband bought although I really like it.  I really do.  The best present ever was the first review that came in on the newly released Book 5, The Days of the Golden Moons.  It’s on Amazon but I’m going to post it here because I am just so truly grateful and humbled by it.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books in series, June 22, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: The Days of the Golden Moons (The Two Moons of Rehnor, Book 5) (Kindle Edition)

I am an avid reader of sci-fi, and have never reviewed a book before, so go gently on me please.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As with the other four books in the series, the plot was excellent.

Senya and Katie are working through their relationship after ten years in this installment of the series. Is Senya really capable of love anymore? I had to question that myself several times.

Add to the mix Katie’s crazy Mother, and Senya’s stodgy one…together were a hoot. This book portrayed Senya’s Mother in a different vein than I’ve ever seen her before.

Excellent series! This author sucks you in with the depth of her characters…it is obvious none of them are perfect, but that’s what brings you closer to them. The character of Senya is a most interesting combination of good, and what we think normally think of as evil. One minute, I thought he was heartless, the next minute I changed my mind. Senya character is constantly evolving throughout this series.

As to answering the underlying question in this whole series…start reading it yourself!

The whole series is a keeper, and worth the price.

Thank you for hours of entertainment J. Naomi Ay. I’m looking forward to number six.

Thank you whoever you are!

Item number 2 on my busy day agenda is to chat with my friend Ahmad Taylor over on his blog:
